Acupuncture Treatments

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is one of the oldest healing methods in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It works by stimulating specific points on the body — called acupoints — to regulate the flow of Qi (vital energy), improve circulation, and harmonize organ function. Each treatment aims to restore balance between body, mind, and spirit in a natural and non-invasive way.

Our Treatment Approach

At Yulong TCM, acupuncture sessions are performed with minimal-needle techniques and deep awareness of each patient’s energetic constitution. Maria van Bruggen, a certified ZHONG practitioner, combines gentle insertion methods with classical and modern acupuncture styles. Every session is adapted to your individual needs — whether the goal is to relieve pain, reduce stress, or strengthen overall vitality.

Conditions We Commonly Treat

  • Muscle and joint pain, back pain, and sciatica
  • Migraine, headache, dizziness, and neck tension
  • Digestive problems, bloating, or low metabolism
  • Sleep disturbances, anxiety, and emotional imbalance
  • Hormonal changes, menstrual or menopausal symptoms
  • Low immunity, chronic fatigue, or post-viral weakness

What to Expect During a Session

The first visit begins with a detailed consultation about your health history, lifestyle, and current symptoms. After pulse and tongue diagnosis, fine sterile needles are gently inserted at selected acupoints. Many patients feel a sensation of calm warmth or a light, spreading energy — a sign that Qi is moving freely again. Each treatment lasts about 60 minutes, and most people feel deeply relaxed afterward.

Frequency and Course of Treatment

Acute conditions may require only a few sessions; chronic or long-term imbalances are treated progressively over several weeks. We’ll discuss the ideal frequency during your first appointment to ensure the most effective results.
