Acupressure / Tuina Treatments

What is Acupressure (Tuina)?

Tuina (pronounced “twee-nah”) is the traditional Chinese medical art of manual therapy — a powerful and deeply relaxing treatment that stimulates energy flow through touch and movement.
Unlike Western massage, Tuina is based on the same meridian and acupoint theory as acupuncture, but without the use of needles.
Through gentle or firm hand techniques, acupressure restores harmony to the body’s energetic system and supports natural healing.

Our Treatment Philosophy

Every Tuina or acupressure session at Yulong TCM is adapted to the individual.
Maria combines classical TCM diagnostic methods with refined hand techniques to address tension, stagnation, or imbalance in Qi flow.
Depending on the condition, the treatment may include rolling, pressing, stretching, vibration, or joint mobilization.
The result is often a feeling of profound relaxation, improved energy, and renewed vitality.

Common Benefits & Indications

  • Neck, shoulder, and back tension
  • Stress, restlessness, and insomnia
  • Digestive discomfort and abdominal tension
  • Muscular fatigue, stiffness, or pain
  • Circulatory or lymphatic stagnation
  • Support during emotional imbalance or burnout

What to Expect During a Session

Sessions begin with a brief consultation and pulse/tongue observation to understand your energy pattern.
The treatment is performed while you lie comfortably on the massage table, usually through a thin cotton layer or directly on the skin with natural herbal oils.
The rhythm alternates between soothing and invigorating — guiding your Qi into balanced flow.
Many patients feel immediate relief or deep calm that continues to unfold in the following days.

Frequency & Course

Tuina and acupressure can be used as a standalone therapy or in combination with acupuncture, cupping, or moxibustion.
For chronic or stress-related conditions, weekly sessions are often recommended until balance is restored.
