Qi Gong Therapy

What is Qi Gong Therapy?

Qi Gong (pronounced “chee-gong”) is an ancient Chinese healing practice combining gentle movements, breathing, and focused awareness to regulate the flow of Qi — the body’s vital energy. It is often described as “the art of effortless power.” At Yulong TCM, Qi Gong is offered as one-on-one therapeutic sessions in the clinic, adapted to your health condition, mobility, and energetic needs.

Our Treatment Approach

Each Qi Gong therapy session is customized to help you release tension, increase vitality, and restore harmony between body and mind. Under the guidance of Maria van Bruggen, a certified ZHONG practitioner and experienced Qi Gong instructor, you’ll learn simple yet profound exercises that calm the nervous system, strengthen the body, and regulate breathing. The practice is meditative, slow, and deeply rejuvenating — suitable for all ages and health levels.

Conditions We Commonly Support with Qi Gong Therapy

  • Chronic fatigue, low energy, or post-illness recovery
  • Stress, anxiety, or emotional imbalance
  • Respiratory or digestive weakness
  • Balance and coordination difficulties
  • Neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s or MS
  • Insomnia or difficulty relaxing

What to Expect During a Session

Your first session begins with a personal health consultation to understand your condition and energy pattern. You’ll then be guided through slow, gentle movements, breathwork, and standing postures that cultivate calm and strength. Each exercise is adapted to your physical capacity and can be performed seated or standing. Sessions last about 45–60 minutes and leave most clients feeling centered, light, and deeply restored.

Frequency and Course of Treatment

Qi Gong therapy can be practiced as a single restorative session or as a progressive series supporting long-term healing. Many clients combine it with acupuncture, moxibustion, or herbal therapy to enhance their overall energy balance. During your first appointment, we’ll determine the most suitable rhythm and focus for your needs.
