Auriculotherapy

What is Auriculotherapy?

Auriculotherapy (ear acupuncture/ear acupressure) works with microsystems on the external ear that reflect the whole body. By stimulating specific auricular points with fine needles or ear seeds (small seeds or pellets), we help regulate the flow of Qi, calm the nervous system, and influence pain, stress, sleep, digestion, and emotional balance in a natural, non-invasive way.

Our Treatment Approach

At Yulong TCM, treatments are tailored to your individual pattern using classical TCM diagnostics (pulse and tongue) combined with targeted ear point selection. Maria van Bruggen, a certified ZHONG practitioner, uses minimal-needle techniques and/or ear seeds for gentle, lasting support. You’ll also receive guidance on pressing the seeds at home to extend therapeutic effects between visits.

Conditions We Commonly Treat

  • Headaches and migraines; neck/shoulder tension
  • Stress, anxiety, irritability, and sleep disturbances
  • Digestive imbalance, bloating, and appetite regulation
  • Hormonal and menstrual-related symptoms
  • Back pain, sciatica, and general musculoskeletal discomfort
  • Post-illness fatigue and immune support

What to Expect During a Session

Your first visit begins with a detailed consultation of your health history, triggers, and current symptoms. After diagnosis, selected ear points are stimulated using fine sterile needles and/or seeds. Sensations are typically mild — a gentle pressure or warmth. Ear seeds may be left in place for several days with simple home-care instructions. Sessions last about 45–60 minutes and most clients leave feeling calm, clear, and balanced.

Frequency and Course of Treatment

Acute issues may improve within a few sessions; chronic or recurring patterns benefit from a short series over several weeks. We’ll discuss the ideal frequency at your first appointment to achieve effective, lasting results.
